BrisCon 2016's Interntaional Tabletop Day Celebrations with Vault Games

This year marked the return of a popular gaming convention known as Briscon. It is known predominantly for its focus on miniature gaming, however we had something to say about that! We approached the organisers and very quickly were set up with a space dedicated to board games! Given the short notice when we reached out to various sources, we were pleasantly surprised at the turn out of board gamers (and, of course at the range of miniature gamers) who attended across the weekend.

At Vault, we constantly strive to promote gaming in all its (meeple) shapes and forms. Getting the opportunity to do this at events such as Briscon (and the subsequent success of these events), shows just how far we've come, and how much further we can go in spreading the joy and fun that our hobby (and obsession) provides.

We hosted a couple of tournaments at the weekend, the ever popular Splendor, and classic 7 Wonders. Congrats to our two winners who took away a top prize of $50 each for their efforts. Also thank you to all participants, as your entry and gold coin donations all contributed to raising around $30 for headspace, which we have bumped up to an even $50.

Tons of games were also played over the weekend, many taught by the Vault staff, for gamers young and old, fresh to the land of tabletop gaming, as well as well-versed gamers looking to try out something they hadn't tried before. Special mention goes to Paul and Mark, organisers of Briscon, who spent most of their time trying out Forbidden Stars and Star Wars Rebellion, and who clearly had a ton of fun learning and mastering the games!

We'd like to thank all the organisers, it was a wonderful event and ran very smoothly. We will be back next year, where it's sure to be bigger and better than before!
