The sea is a dangerous place. Whether it’s storms or sea serpents, you’re putting your life on the line each time you set sail. Boldly face the challenges of the open ocean as you steer your ship into uncharted waters.

At the Helm is a heavy nautical theme game inspired by the old captain's ship logs. Often in these ship logs you'd see drawings and we used that as inspiration. It's solo and it's a deckbuilder.

Over a series of turns, build a deck and use it to complete the three selected challenges before you run out of time or health. Turns proceed as follows:

  1. Choose 1 or 2 cards from your hand. For each chosen card, either resolve its ability and place it in the discard pile, or discard it (ignoring its ability).
  2. Resolve the effects of incomplete challenges.
  3. Draw cards form the deck until you have 3 cards in hand. Take 1 damage for each broken heart.

If the market and deck both run out of cards and you need to draw a card, or your health reaches the skull and bones, you lose the game.

Otherwise, when you complete the win conditions of the selected challenges, you win the game!

Two expansions are included in this version of the game:

  • The Lazarette expansion provides 6 new market cards to add to those from the Base Game.
  • The Port Amalga expansion provides 2 new market cards to add to those from the Base Game and a totally new card type - the Location Card. Locations may allow for additional bonuses or threats.

        Shipment Processing Time

        All orders, if the item was in-stock at the time of purchase, are processed within 2 business days of the order being placed, or, if the item was out of stock at the time of purchase, within 2 business days of the product arriving in store.

        Preorders are processed in a timeframe that allows for the product to arrive on or after the release date.

        If an item is 'Order-in', it can vary how long this item takes to come into stock from our suppliers. If in stock at our supplier, it is likely to be 2-3 weeks to arrive in store. Other times, items may be out of stock at suppliers, and while we do our best to ensure our website it up to date, we have thousands of products on our site, and technology hasn't quite caught up for us to pull information from all our suppliers and the availability of each and every product, and have this update regularly. If you require a product ETA, please contact us at the time you place your order.

        Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or public holidays.

        If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.

        Shipping Rates & Delivery Estimates

        Orders (including PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers) will be shipped via our shipping client Shippit, which includes courier partners such as Couriers Please, Aramex, and AusPost Parcel Post at a flat rate of $15 per order. Please note parcels have authority to leave, unless you request otherwise.

        If shipped via Standard Parcel Post, it is up to the discretion of the individual courier whether your parcel is left at your residence or taken to the nearest depot or post office. We do not have any control of a parcel once it has been picked up from our store(s).

        Express Post orders are shipped via the Aus Post Express service and are charged at a $28 flat rate. Please note that not all post codes are covered by this service.

        Delivery delays can occasionally occur, especially during peak periods such as Black Friday and Christmas, or by weather events.
