Alone Against the Frost is a solo horror adventure for one player, set during a research expedition to Canada’s Northwest Territories during the 1920s. Here, you choose your own path as you navigate through the story—your choices will determine whether you find success or failure!
You take on the role of Dr. L. C. Nadelmann, an anthropologist from the renowned Miskatonic University in Arkham, MA. Accompanied by three of your most gifted and practical graduate students, as well as an experienced local guide, you set off into the fabled valley of the North Hanninah in search of the anthropological discovery that will make your career and bring you fame. Or, so you hope.
Your expedition members are:
- Dr. L. C. Nadelmann, an academic obsessed by early North American prehistory, myths, and legends, particularly in the Big Woods region.
- Bernard Ebstein, a cherubic-looking native New Yorker, eager to experience life in the wilds before his upcoming marriage to his sweetheart, Catherine.
- Sylvia Davidson, the latest in a long line of Boston Brahmins, destined for academic greatness thanks to her dedication and determination.
- Norman Falkner, a mature, largely self-taught student whose calm nature acts as a steadying influence on those around him.
- Charlie Foxtail, a cautious Tsuut’ina professional wilderness guide, hired to lead the expedition safely through the North Hanninah.
But such a journey is fraught with difficulties, from dangerous white water to the superstitious beliefs of the region’s inhabitants—not to mention the wildlife!
Will you manage to survive every challenge this hostile environment throws at you? Will your companions? Can you return with your reputation—and your sanity—intact? Only time will tell.
Armed with a pencil, some roleplaying dice, and a copy of the Call of Cthulhu Rulebook or the Call of Cthulhu Starter Set, you are ready to brave the remote wilderness as one of MU’s youngest ever professors! Shipment Processing Time
All orders, if the item was in-stock at the time of purchase, are processed within 2 business days of the order being placed, or, if the item was out of stock at the time of purchase, within 2 business days of the product arriving in store.
Preorders are processed in a timeframe that allows for the product to arrive on or after the release date.
If an item is 'Order-in', it can vary how long this item takes to come into stock from our suppliers. If in stock at our supplier, it is likely to be 2-3 weeks to arrive in store. Other times, items may be out of stock at suppliers, and while we do our best to ensure our website it up to date, we have thousands of products on our site, and technology hasn't quite caught up for us to pull information from all our suppliers and the availability of each and every product, and have this update regularly. If you require a product ETA, please contact us at the time you place your order.
Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or public holidays.
If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.
Shipping Rates & Delivery Estimates
Orders (including PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers) will be shipped via our shipping client Shippit, which includes courier partners such as Couriers Please, Aramex, and AusPost Parcel Post at a flat rate of $15 per order. Please note parcels have authority to leave, unless you request otherwise.
If shipped via Standard Parcel Post, it is up to the discretion of the individual courier whether your parcel is left at your residence or taken to the nearest depot or post office. We do not have any control of a parcel once it has been picked up from our store(s).
Express Post orders are shipped via the Aus Post Express service and are charged at a $28 flat rate. Please note that not all post codes are covered by this service.
Delivery delays can occasionally occur, especially during peak periods such as Black Friday and Christmas, or by weather events.
