The Essence of Fate
Fate Condensed is a compact, stand-alone version of the Fate Core System streamlined for clarity and ease of reference.
Fate Condensed gives you easy-to-digest rules in as few pages as possible, letting you get to the table and roll the dice, fast. It includes a few simple refinements to the Fate Core engine honed over a decade of active play and development. And best of all, it's 100% compatible with every one of our 90+ Fate products already published.
Fate veterans will appreciate the concise layout, minor refinements, and additions to Fate’s rules (see below for the details).
New to Fate? Fate Condensed can drive any game, any scenario you can imagine. Unleash your creativity! Fate's flexible rules make it easy.
You can adapt your favorite movie or tv series, or create an original world uniquely tailored to your group. Players populate that world with proactive, capable characters leading dramatic lives. The Game Master challenges them with crises tied both to the world and to their personal troubles.
Fate Condensed gives you the flexibility and power to bring your vision to life!
Inside Fate Condensed, you'll find:
- One-point stress boxes to help reduce player confusion. (Don't worry, you can still use Fate Core stress if you want!)
- Skills no longer determine turn order. Instead, the story determines who goes first, and the active player chooses who goes next.
- We've improved advancement, eliminating significant milestones and finessing major milestones to compensate.
- Active opposition is no longer separate from the defend action.
- Fourteen pages of optional rules to make building your own custom variant of Fate easy. These options give you rules for countdowns, scale, extreme consequences, methods to make your Big Bads bigger and badder, and more.
Shipment Processing Time
All orders, if the item was in-stock at the time of purchase, are processed within 2 business days of the order being placed, or, if the item was out of stock at the time of purchase, within 2 business days of the product arriving in store.
Preorders are processed in a timeframe that allows for the product to arrive on or after the release date.
If an item is 'Order-in', it can vary how long this item takes to come into stock from our suppliers. If in stock at our supplier, it is likely to be 2-3 weeks to arrive in store. Other times, items may be out of stock at suppliers, and while we do our best to ensure our website it up to date, we have thousands of products on our site, and technology hasn't quite caught up for us to pull information from all our suppliers and the availability of each and every product, and have this update regularly. If you require a product ETA, please contact us at the time you place your order.
Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or public holidays.
If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.
Shipping Rates & Delivery Estimates
Orders (including PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers) will be shipped via our shipping client Shippit, which includes courier partners such as Couriers Please, Aramex, and AusPost Parcel Post at a flat rate of $15 per order. Please note parcels have authority to leave, unless you request otherwise.
If shipped via Standard Parcel Post, it is up to the discretion of the individual courier whether your parcel is left at your residence or taken to the nearest depot or post office. We do not have any control of a parcel once it has been picked up from our store(s).
Express Post orders are shipped via the Aus Post Express service and are charged at a $28 flat rate. Please note that not all post codes are covered by this service.
Delivery delays can occasionally occur, especially during peak periods such as Black Friday and Christmas, or by weather events. If you feel your order has been significantly delayed, in the first instance, we ask you contact Shippit via their contact service, if they do not respond, please contact us at https://vaultgames.com.au/pages/contact-us.
