It’s November and Riftbound: the League of Legends Trading Card Game is finally here. Our boosters are all gone, our events are booked out, and the team is pumped to get involved in the game. With sixteen legends available out of the gate, there’s plenty of options to start building and both the team and the community here at Vault Games have hit the ground running. Here’s a few of the decks running around the tables already…

Leona, Radiant Dawn (Calm//Order) - Dylan (Store Owner)

Look, I don’t really play League of Legends (in fact, due to Riftbound, I’ve finally pulled the trigger and waded into the 15-year-old soup that is the game and learning how to Top-Lane) so I’m here for the trading card game-side of things. The Leona, Radiant Dawn (OGN #261) deck I’m running is based on some I’ve seen floating around on Riftbound.gg with a few tweaks here and there. The deck runs by stunning opposing units, buffing mine in response, and then running over the enemy and conquering battlefields. Can I deal with a single massive threat? Not easily. But if I can stun your units down and Leona, Zealot (OGN#079) is there, that battlefield will be mine.

Sett, The Boss (Body//Order) - Elijah (Community Member)

My first League of Legends main was Sett. There was something about being a champion where, if you can withstand the assault, you can dish it back, that sounded really fun to me. Then, seeing that his legend card was able to express both Sett's damage output using Riftbound’s Buff mechanic, but also the sustainability Sett specialises in with the ability to spend your buff to keep a unit alive was so tantalizing that I knew I just had to build and play him.

Master Yi, Wuju Bladesman (Calm//Body) - Trent (Store Manager)

My absolute #1 main in League of Legends is Master Yi. I love his "do everything and nothing all at once" playstyle, having very high skill expression in stressful situations, but maintaining a simple gameplan throughout the early to midgame. I built him in Riftbound because he's broken because I enjoy his champion card's flexibility and love his balance of control cards like Rune Prison (OGN#050), Charm (OGN#043) and Defy (OGN#045), when coupled with my trump card in the champion zone.

Teemo, Swift Scount (Mind//Chaos) - Cameron (Community Member)

Decided to give the devil himself, Teemo, a run as my first deck. I like the hidden mechanic and think it promotes some interesting decision making for myself and my opponents. Chaos (purple) also has some of my favourite cards from the first set, so it seemed like a natural fit.

The decklist is pretty standard with a collection of blue and purple good stuff. The game plan is to get some early conquests with Ravenbloom Student (OGN#103) and Ember Monk (OGN#167), using hidden cards to help defend the battlefields.

Dr. Mundo, Expert (OGN#109) is the primary way the deck closes out games, he works really well with Ride the Wind (OGN#173) and Convergent Mutation (OGN#108) to help snatch wins.
